Various Remarks

From Woofgui

  • The original woof-author Simon Budig has not responded to multiple emails concerning our efforts with woof. Do we keep notifying him anyway? Should we even try to get him onboard?
    • M says: if he has time and wants to, he is welcome. His email was very promising.

  • Mathieu Cadet has written a Gnome-Do plugin for Woof. Obviously, he has failed to maintain it. There's a good Ubuntu-Wiki page about the plugin. Do we want Mathieu Cadet onboard? Or do we want to take the plugin-code and make it work again? Gnome-Do really is a great app + the rising star of the Gnome-Desktop! A working plugin for Gnome-Do will be positively received!
    • M says: a plugin will not be very necessary if we manage to create a smooth working app. In that case opening a file with woof as executing application would be enough. Only plus would be that contacting chat-buddies is imported in the process. Imho not something we should strive for in our first efforts making a woof gui, but surely an option for future releases.
    • M says: as far as Mathieu is concerned, the same goes for him as for Simon. If he wants to help, that's fine. But before using his plugin we should at least contact him.
