[edit] Activision vs Brutal Legend

Brütal Legend was originally to be published by Vivendi Games' subsidiary Sierra Entertainment. In 2008, Activision merged with Vivendi's game division (which included Blizzard Entertainment) to become Activision Blizzard, gaining the rights to publication of Brütal Legend. After they realized that Brütal Legend wasn't something like Guitar Hero, Activision refused to fund any more money on it. After Electronic Arts picked it up and Brütal Legend started getting heavy attention, Activision attempted to sue Double Fine Studio.
