2007 marks the 150th Anniversary of the birth of the Founder of the biggest youth movement of the world history: Baden Powel, a Brithish General who traveled five continents in the best explendor of the Brithis Empire. In Colombia the Boy Scouts were founded by Jorge Cock Quevedo in Antioquia.
  • Works to remodeling the important Medellin Avenue "Calle 10" (10th Street) in the southern El Poblado District will start next January 9.
  • Jamboree hold in Antioquia: In Guatapé, a town 3 hours far from Medellín to the East, 1500 boy scouts gathered to celebrate the 150 Anniversary of the birth of Lord Robert Stephenson Smith Baden Powel. The event that is taking place this week, got the visit of Mrs. Patricia Restrepo Montoya, Governor of Antioquia. See Scouting in Antioquia.
  • Two siames baby girls who were born in the Hospital Universitario San Jorge in Pereira, belonging to a family of poor conditions, got the attention of the local newspaper Diaro del Otún.
