What Remains

Chapter One

Sora had no reason to feel sadness here. She loved the Jedi Temple with all her heart. After all she had lived there and learned everything there all her known life, except for a few months ago when her Jedi Master took her as an apprentice. Now she was back, under Jedi orders during the Clone Wars, while her master fought a crucial mission in the Outer Rim. Oh how much she would rather be there with her master than here! But the Jedi could not afford to have a new, young padawan in the midst of such a dangerous mission for her own safety. Here Sora was safe.

However, Sora was confident she could fend for herself. She had already seen the Clone Wars for a few month and the battled in the Outer Rim for a few weeks when her master had joined Master Kenobi amd Knight Skywalker on one of their missions.

Skywalker. That name sent a shiver up her spine.

Most young Jedi hero wordshipped Skywalker especially Terrick, a friend of hers. He was another Jedi Padawan, but he had not yet been chosen by a master. He spoke so much of Skywalker, about all the victories he accomplished and recently now the rescue of the Chancellor he lead.

This last accomplishment had set up a buzz of conversation among all the Jedi younglings that were not yet chosen by masters. All of them were looking forward to the day when their hero would gain enough prestige to choose his own Padawan and now it seemed he was in the right position to do just that. It would be a Jedi child's dream to be Skywalker's apprentice.

Sora on the other hand had an entirely different view on Skywalker.

Don't think about that now. You let it bother you too much, she tried to convince herself.
