Closing Ceremony

From Wikimacs

The Closing Ceremony has been an integral part of WMACS since the beginning in 1989. At the end of each week, the campers would present everything they have learned at a program for their parents. Using the auditorium space at the local university (American, Towson State, Salisbury) where WMACS was held or a local high school auditorium (Richard Montgomery High School), the campers would perform the dances, martial arts forms, folk sports, and songs they had learned during the week for their parents. Arts and crafts projects and Chinese paintings by the campers would also be displayed in the hallways for parents to view.

However, due to a lack of financial resources for food and performance space, the program was not done in 2002 through 2005. Instead, it was replaced by the Talent Show which allowed campers to showcase their individual talents as well.

The Closing Ceremony returned in 2006, where instead of all the campers simply say their sad goodbyes and leave, all the campers performed what they learned during the week of camp, Wushu, etc. Pretty much what they performed in Talent Show minus the solo acts.
