1991

WMACS moved to Salisbury State University in 1991. This was also the first year of the bus ride experience. In previous years, parents would simply drop their kids off at the college. However, being 2 hours away from the metro DC area, Salisbury would be a little more inconvenient. So the bus trip was set up where everyone (campers, counselors, teachers, staff) would caravan to the university.

The camp director for 1991 is the famous Lo Ah-yi a.k.a. Joanne Sham, also the mother of Joe Sham and Kin-Ling Sham and aunt of Jessica Liu and Jeffrey Liu. She is awesome-personified. She could probably be considered the most counselor-like staff member ever. She okayed our dance parties every night during Midnight Snacks and would participate in game night games. But she would also enforce discipline like no other if campers misbehaved.
