protecting feature list
?? How come this page is not protected. Anyone can add delete suposed features of editthis?! Can't be depended on. Is this a faulty protection of editthis or a faulty thought of the designer of this page??

Feature request
?? How about adding a feature: "Write-add only permit" : allow others to add to the page, forcing the new additions to be of distinct collor/font but not allowing any deletions. this would allow anybody to add _suggested_ changes which can later be incorporated by the page owner. ??
- This site uses MediaWiki. I don't think it is easy to add a feature by yourself. Better ask at mediawiki.org incase of feature request. I'm not sure which MediaWiki version is run on this server. Jan 84.44.132.69 04:34, 7 August 2006 (EDT) Jan 05:06, 7 August 2006 (EDT)
Mediawiki 1.9
If the software gets upgraded to version 1.9, there will be some nice features:
Page protection
- semi protection: you can semi-protect a page to prevent anonymous users from editing it (for example spammers using IPs)
- move protection: prevents users from moving the page
- full protection: prevents editing from both anonymous and registered non-admin/bureaucrat users
Blocking
- enable/disable autoblock: if the autoblock feature is enabled, when an admin blocks a user the underlying IP will also be blocked automatically for 24 hours (without revealing the address) to prevent it from creating more vandal accounts.
- enable/disable account creation: if an admin blocks an IP or a username and he turns account creation off, the IP/username will not be able to register more accounts.
- enable/disable anonymous only: if an admin blocks a heavily shared pool of IPs (such as AOL) he might want to restrict editing for those using IP addresses, to permit innocent registered users to edit.
Allow user backup
Does the fact that "Allow user backup" is listed under "Known issues being worked on" mean that it is available but not working or that there are plans to make this feature available on editthis.info at some point? Thanks.--Jjhake 00:53, 7 January 2008 (EST)
