Personality
Haine’s personality is very unstable. In general he is emotionally distanced, but he has another “personality” which enjoys violence and destruction. He has little patience, often turns to anger whether or not it’s an appropriate emotion, is very unsocial, and can be violent or downright ruthless. He is clever, but can be a bit irrational. He holds a lot of self-hatred, but is also proud and somewhat egotistical or pushes people away when they try to help him. Money means little to him. He has little qualms about killing en mass in a hail of bullets if the situation calls for it. Haine has an extreme fear of women; he is generally unpleasant towards them and will have a breakdown or go berserk if they come close to him or touch him.
Powers and Abilities
Haine has a regeneration power than allows him to quickly recover from any injury (will be delayed/weakened due to Flux gate). He also has enhanced speed and strength as well as a heightened sense of smell and hearing. Working with that is his incredible aim; he doesn’t need to see a target in order to be able to shoot it.
History
As a child, Haine was subjected to genetic engineering with a group of other children in “the Underground”. Somehow from there (the natures of the experiments are still unknown) his genetics were mutilated, his nervous system was changed, and a metal “neck ring” was fused to the back of his neck. It was here that he got his name, Haine Rammsteiner—he cannot remember anything before his time in the Underground and thus didn’t have a name.
Most of the children that took on the same tests were either “incomplete” or killed; only two are known to have survived the experiment: Haine and Giovanni. Giovanni was considered “incomplete”, leaving Haine as the only known person to take the experiments perfectly. Not much else is known about Haine’s past, except that at one point he lost control of the destructive “Cerberus” inside him and went into a blind rage, slaughtering everything and everyone in sight, including his sister, Lily. It was from there that his fear of women started.
Haine’s history from there until the start of the story is still unknown. He now works with Badou Nails as a gun-for-hire. At the beginning of the story he rescued a girl called Nill, who was also a subject of genetic experimentation and had been given wings, from child prostitution; she is the only woman who can touch him without resulting in one of his rages.
