FAQ

  • What do I need to get my Wii internet ready?

Youll need a wireless router thats compatible with the Nintendo Wii.If you arent set up wirelessly theres more options. Nintendo is selling a usb device that plugs into your computer and will transfer wirelessly to your Wii info or you can wait till mid January when they will be selling a Lan to USB connector so you can hook a internet cable to your Wii.

  • i'm retarded. how do i set up my internet to wii?

Start you wii click on the bottom left icon, then go to wii settings, scroll over a page click on internet.Go to connection settings run some tests, get updates and return to your wii menu. Enter the shop channel and go to wiiware and download install Opera. Now youll be able to browse youre internet from your Wii.

  • is there a way to play music from the sd card while playing a game?

"Nah. if they do incorporate that feature it'll be strictly on a game-by-game basis and will probably go under-used since it's not all that convenient (as opposed to having a hard drive filled with mp3s, that is). the Photo Channel lets you use your own music for slideshows, but that's about it as of right now".

"I think excite truck might be the only game that lets you do this so far. the fact that there isn't full support is complete bullshit. nintendo's supposedly about keeping things cheap, and that's why there's no DVD support - so they don't have to pay for the license. but they paid for the mp3 license, and they don't even use it".

  • Is the resolution trash for anyone else on browser?

+/- buttons zoom and the 2 button will make the browser fit to the screen.

  • so i hear through the grapevine that the memory card is just an sd card, is this true?? or is there built in memory or what?

Yes the wii's memory card is an SD card so you dont have to go out and use a Nintendo brand. If you have an old one laying around toss it in youre Wii. Also the wii has 512 mb of internal memory to my knowledge, ill get confirmation on this immediatly.

  • Does the Wii cost extra money to get online?

No the sevice is free. Right now you can download Opera Beta from the Shop channel free of charge. The Wii browser will be free if you download it before July 2007, and people who download it after that will have to pay about $5 (500 Wii Points).

  • How do I get my replacement Wii strap if I still have the old one that was recalled?

  • How can I find out when new VC games come out and which titles will be available?

VC games come out every monday. Add this name vc@darkain.com to youre address list/friend list and you will be updated on your message board when new games are available.

Hopefully we can also further integrate this by accepting forwarded game stats (eg Wii Sports), take that data and do something fun and useful with it!
