Clint (sailor)

Clint is a human sailor who used to sail aboard the merchant ship the Golden Dawn. There he met and befriended Aralos, who joined the crew two years after he did. Clint and Aralos worked together and drank together until the death of the benevolent captain, Treven. Shortly thereafter, because the ship was going to be captained by the bully Carlin, both Clint and Aralos left to seek better fortunes elsewhere. They found themselves in the metropolitan port city, Kingsport.

At a bar called the Merry Maiden, Clint met Milly, a barmaid soon to be the love of his life. He would give up the nomadic life of a sailor for her, settling down to apprentice as a shipwright instead. Meanwhile, in the same bar on the same night, Aralos met Hilgard the dwarf, an engineer and wagonwright, and set off with him in search of fortune and, he hoped, the designs for a rumored seagoing vessel that he might build or see built. Aralos hoped to establish a new shipping company with the supposedly swifter design, but Clint just wanted to settle down with Milly on an island far from the troubles of the world. Hilgard introduced Clint to his new master and set him on his path before departing with Aralos.
