Character History/Biography
Summer Rose Klein was the first child of Jakob Klein and Tovah Kline, hippies that both came from Orthodox Jewish families. She was born on Earth day in 1966, in a field of wildflowers. Summer grew up in communes, being homeschooled. Her brother, Pippin, was born 9 months after Woodstock.
At 17 Summer was accepted to UC Berkley. She got her undergrad in chemistry and botany, graduating head of her class. Her graduate work was done at Brigham Young, also in botany. Her research in growing plants in extreme temperatures got her a job with the US Government.
6 years ago she was approached for a special project, and it was then she was transferred to Cheyene Mountain. She learned of the Stargate Project and has been busy in that time continuing her initial research and exploring plants from previously unknown worlds.
Summer has received the standard training of anyone who may end up going through the Stargate, so she has base knowledge of guns. Mainly though, she knows to get behind the soldiers and duck when the shooting starts.
There are probably few in the community that know what her name is beyond Dr. S. Klein. She really does not introduce herself as Summer and probably only those who have seen her file would know what her first name was. She prefers Dr. Klein. She doesn't discuss her family, or where she grew up. She prefers to talk about plants and fertilizer over her background. She makes no bones about being Jewish though and she does refer to her parents as Jakob and Tovah, not Mom and Dad.

Summer's Nature
Summer is very laid back and doesn't get easily excited about anything. She's generally very calm, and likely no one has seen her get angry. She doesn't seem bothered about leaving Earth, or even losing contact with Earth. Her earlier time bouncing from place to place has given her little in the way of attachment to any particular place. She is more fascinated with building something new, then worried about trying to recover the old.
