Appearance

Accidia just does not look well put together. Shes pale, gaunt-faced and not particularly pretty, with a head of long strikingly red hair is that is rarely brushed or styled in any capacity. Her eyes are rarely fully open, and she consistently appears tired or spacing out. She bites her cuticles, rarely cleans her nails, dislikes perfume overall while she is clean, she does not appear to take her appearance very seriously at all. Her clothes rarely fit correctly, as she usually buys a size up, and the style is usually dull and frumpy as if she got her wardrobe (save for her uniforms) at a dusty thrift shop.

Overall she just doesnt appear to be all there, sleepwalking through the day.

History

Accidia was born in Pazin, in the northern region of Croatia. While not exactly struggling, both her parents had to work hard to support herself and her younger sister. The country was destabilizing fast, with ethnic squabbles and murmurs of civil war and a split from Yugoslavia, the county that had absorbed Croatia many years previous. Still, all this seemed so far away for the little family, surrounded by friends and neighbors and weekend holidays to the seashore. But, as to expected, this idyllic lifestyle was to come to a sudden and terrible end.

When Accidia was five years old, her mother was killed during an ethnic uprising. Their home was mostly destroyed, and the family was left with very little. After these events, Accidia changed. While she had been a quiet child before, what she became was almost positively mute. She slept all the time, didnt like to move unless she absolutely had to while her father and the family they had gone to live with knew that there was something wrong with her, they didnt have the money or the resources to figure out what. In the end, she was left to her own devises.

Accidias father had always held a passion for writing, but the loss of his wife and the effects that it had on his family sparked him into finally doing something with that passion. In between shifts at various blue-collar jobs he began to write a book about the Croatian split from Yugoslavia, from his point of view. After it was completed he showed it to a friend, who showed it to a friend within six months, he had a book deal! And then it hit the shelves and then before they knew it the family was suddenly rich and traveling and there was even talk of a movie and the quiet lifestyle that Accidia had finally reaccustomed herself to was shattered. She withdrew further.

While on tour, her father met a young woman from Transylvania who was struggling to raise a child of her own. The month there turned into two, and then three. Then the woman was coming with them to their next location within a year they were married and Accidia could only be glimpsed from the other side of books when she wasnt hiding away from everyone. Her behavior was now considered inappropriate for someone of her age, but she didnt respond to any punishment. Anywhere she was sent, she went without question. Anything taken away from her she willingly gave. Money and fame had changed her father; this new woman wasnt her mother

So what do you do when your child is being ornery and you have tons of money? You ship them off to a boarding school, thats what. And what sounds more elite then talking with movie stars and saying that your daughter goes to the Second Heaven? Yes, that one. Oh, I know, the tuition is high, but only the best for our little darling

Personality

Keywords: Brooding, gloomy, apathetic, complicated.

Silent, maybe even brooding. She doesn't like to talk, and when she does her sentences are disjointed, and she speaks so softly that it's hard to understand her. Sometimes, in the middle of speaking, she simply lets her sentences drop (sometimes even while in the middle of a word). Due to this, she may appear simple to most of the people that she talks to, though she really makes so move to rectify this. Accidia much prefers writing, or just listening to others talk at her. She doesn't make friends well, just because she has no apparent interest in being friends with anyone.

In this way she seems to be a vague outline of a person, unable to be shaken by yelling or screaming or physically shaking her. Her grades are just good enough, her class participation is just good enough; Accidia is a series of mediocrities that manage to just barely get by. She has no visible passion, no obvious driving motive other than to get through today, and then tomorrow, and then the next day.
