Appearance
Penna is more cute than pretty - she has a young-looking face, with big brown eyes. She has long dirty-blonde hair that is naturally curly. She usually wears it down and clipped out of her face with barrettes, but every now and then she'll pull it into a bun or ponytail if she's feeling dangerous.
Overall, there's nothing very particular about Penna. She's not too tall or too short, and she's not too heavy or too thin. While her hair might draw some attention to her, she's not one for flashy styles or heavy makeup, so she more or less just looks plain, normal, and certainly nothing to write home about
Penna's PB is Hayden Panettiere.
Personality
Penna is happy! Always happy! Super happy all the time optimistic everything happens for a reason happy! She's always smiling, trying to make friends in any group she's plopped into. She loves being with other people! Sometimes she gets a bit too excited, and her voice'll get too loud, and she might get a bit rambunceous, but she never means harm.
She's not keen on being upfront with her problems with others; she'll laugh off pranks, and she'd rather blame herself than the other person. She hates to get into any kind of confrontation, and if she finds that she's not getting along with someone she'll try hard to mend whatever rift that might have inadvertantly happened. Penna is not a leader, she's a follower - she loves being with people, but just wants to go with the crowd.
Her smiling is a mechanism - she thinks that by being happy, she can just laugh away any problems!
History
Life for Penna is steady, normal, and without a lot of strife and hardship. She comes from a middle-class family, and a very loving and supportive one at that. Her mother is a florist, and her father works as a nurse in a local clinic. While their income wasn't much, as parents go, they got along well and rarely faught. They raised their children to the rest of their ability, and while money was always tight the family lived in realtive comfort. As a girl, Penna was generally helpful and friendly, and excelled in her elementary education.
She got along well with most, though strangely enough most of her social issues stemmed from her twin brother, who was bitter towards her. She got friends due to her friendliness, praise from the parents due to her good grades... he always felt that he was a step behind her, when they should be on equal footing. While Penna still contends that she has a good relationship with her brother, the truth of the matter is that it's very strained. However, she gets on with her other siblings and the rest of her family very well.
As the time for her to enroll in high school came, her parents thought that she would be attending the normal school where her older brother had gone before her. However, Penna's teachers expressed their desire to see her apply for Second Heaven instead. The girl was smart, they said, and could easily pass the entrance exams. However, her parents were worried - they hadn't saved up the sort of money to send any of their children to such a school and even though it was only a short ride away by monorail, it still was in another town. After some further discussion, Penna was allowed by her parents to take the exams and due to her exemplary grades, she was given a scholarship (as long as she can keep her grades up). She is very grateful to the school for their generosity and shows it by working hard and doing anything she can to help out the administration.
Hurrah! During her first year there, lots of exciting things happened! She joined the student council and took on a position under a senior as part of a sort of welcoming committee, which she is now the head of. She also met her first and only boyfriend, a boy named Caspian. He was from an old-money family, and was fairly popular. However, towards the end of that same year he was pulled out of school because his family wanted him to come with them on an excursion that his father was in charge of, and therefore yay for homeschooling! Instead of trying to keep it up over such a long distance, he decided that they should break up. Penna was heartbroken, though she didn't say anything about it to Caspian - instead she just smiled and nodded and wished him a safe trip and a happy life to wherever he was going. She tried to at least keep up their communication, but after a month of off-and-on emails, he eventually stopped replying altogether.

Why Second Heaven?: Because it's close to home, and is a chance for Penna to experiance something of what people are like outside of her small-town. Also, because it's a nice and prestigeous academy.

Likes: Dogs, riding her bike, hiking and nature in general, talking on the phone, music (mostly french or american pop), singing and kareoke (not any good at either), anime and manga (mostly mainstream shoujo; Vegetable Basket, She and He's Circumstances, Kyoto Nya Nya), cute computer games (Princess Creator 2, non-porn dating games)
Dislikes: Cats, velveteen (it makes the roof of her mouth go numb), papercuts and other little wounds, blood in general, having to do a lot of dirty dishes at once, violence and criminal behavior, breaking rules or causing trouble, talking about sex or other parts of an intimate relationship
