Shoe Lockers?

In Japanese culture individuals take off their shoes before entering anywhere. It's practical and prevents dirt. In school the same happens - shoes are taken off for slippers! In anime these are often not drawn in, replaced with the simple black shoes that many see students in. The slippers are taken off in exchange for the simple black uniform shoes whenever a student is going outside, as well!

I'm confused by the Testing/Classes/Homerooms...

Never fear! Snapple is here!

I've noticed this pop up in my AIM window a lot, so I thought I'd do a small summary here!

How do I pick my test ranking?

The easiest way to do this is just to think about how serious your kid was about doing school. General rule of thumb is this:

Naturally smart, worked ass off: 1-5. Naturally smart, worked okay/Okay Smart, studied ass off: 4-8. Naturally smart, but didn't study: 8-13. Okay smart, studied pretty hard: 12-20. Okay smart, but didn't study: 18-26. Not so smart, worked ass to the BONE: (SEE NOTE TOO!) 18-26. Not so smart, studied pretty hard: 24-34. All else: 30-40.

DO REMEMBER THESE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS!! If you want a work-a-holic Rock-Lee type, and have them get a 1 even though they're not normally a genius? GO FOR IT. But a lot of people have been having trouble thinking of placing numbers, so I thought I'd write up this kinda guideline. ♥

By picking first, second, and third, you give us a shot to think how your char would do by what you tell us in the app. If they're someone who cracks under pressure, you might lower their score, ecetera. Remember all a score does is determine your YEAR 1 ROOM. If your char works very very hard, you can always say in your app they've moved to slot 14 in year 2! These sorts of things are possible, to move up and down, however it is harder to move up than it is to move down; but for every student who moves down, there's a place for a student from Room 1-2 to move up.

What do you mean, 1-1, 1-2?

The homerooms work like this.

1-1 means Year 1, 1-1 means rank 1-20. It's all grades, folks. Worse student? Lower number on the end of that one.

Classes look confusing. D:

It's actually really easy, with very limited choices.

As a 1 and 2, you only get two options:

Pick 1 of the three arts courses for your elective; Pick either World History or Local/Japanese History.

As a 3, you get a few more.

Pick either Sciences or Arts first. Then pick the options from page 2.3 of Science or Art. Then pick World or Japanese/Local History.

I have this student who moved up/moved down.

In your app, please clearly indicate that their entry rank was ___, but their current rank is ___. As always, please include a 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice for their current rank. No, it's not a natural option in the app! You'll have to edit it in yourself! I trust you're capable! ♥
