Gear are items you wear that give you various benefits. You can equip up to two items, including two of the same type of item.

Deciding what Gear to choose is a difficult task depending on what type of weapons you use. Your best choices are Birthday Cake (Or Pre-Emptive Medpack, if you were not arround in the beginning of July)
And the Super Hero cape. That way you can focus on making your weapon stronger rather than making your defence and weapon stronger at the same time.
