How this page came to be

Sporked from Wikipedia at [1]

Please note the POV in this discussion, which was performed without any input from me, as I had been blocked at the time. The Wikipedia Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense, now Silly Things, were very controversial in 2006-7, on about the same level as health care in the USA circa 2009-2010. There was a larger issue of community consensus, as well as of historical preservation, and whether the good of the many in this case outweighed the good of the few, or the one. I truly don't know in this case if there was actually a consensus in favor of deletion (on the part of more than a few people), but I feel the general public should have the right to enjoy Wikipedia bad jokes and other nonsense, such as HuffPo's sample at [2]. Furthermore, I wonder whether the deletion of my miscellany was a violation of Wikipedia userpage rights or not. Research, anybody?Rickyrab | Talk 19:50, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Just to clarify: I do not intend to disrupt Wikipedia or inflame anybody. I just feel Wikipedia's missteps can be entertaining as well as its accomplishments, and recording of some of the sillier moments helps to clear the air. I did not feel that I was "going against consensus" when, in fact, there was no real consensus to be had, and, furthermore, I did not feel that the actions of a few- a very few- Wikipedians against the enjoyment of "Silly Things and Bad Jokes and other Deleted Nonsense" of the many was warranted. That being said, I apologize for any harm or disruption my actions in favor of preservation of BJAODN may have caused. — Rickyrab | Talk 20:02, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
