=Basic Biography

Susan is the granddaughter of the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor. Her last name, Foreman, comes from the junkyard at 76 Totter’s Lane (owned by I.M Foreman), where she and the Doctor lived during their time in London. It is unknown is Susan is her actual first name, or simply another alias.

The Doctor and Susan are exiles from Gallifrey, who travelled together for some time before settling in London to make repairs to the TARDIS. She enrolls in Coal Hill School, Shoreditch, where her advanced knowledge attracts the attention of two teachers, Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright.

Ian and Barbara follow her back to the junkyard after school one day, and end up in a confrontation with the Doctor. They hear voices coming from what appears to be a blue police box. Closer inspection reveals this to be the TARDIS, and the two teachers end up joining the Doctor and Susan on their travels.

During their travels, Susan meets and falls in love with a freedom fighter from the 22nd century, David Campbell. Though she believes she should stay and take care of her grandfather, the Doctor – realising his granddaughter is a grown woman who needs to build her old future away from him – locks her out of the TARDIS and leaves.

What happened to David is unknown, but after a brush with the Master, Susan stole his TARDIS and was once again able to roam time and space.
