Locations
Most rules assume that everyone is in the same location. You must be in the same location as someone else to have a combat with them unless you have ranged weapons and can see from one location to the other. Monsters stay in the same room they originate unless they are attacking someone who tries to evade to another room.
Special Conditions: LOCKDOWN MODE INITIATED. ALL ATTEMPTS TO ENTER NEW AREAS WILL BE PUNISHED.
Note: You can post questions about locations here by typing ** and then asking what you want to know about a location. I'll edit in the info. """
The Hotel
Hotel lobby
- A large well lit area with many sofas and meeting tables. A glass ceiling above lets in sunlight from a steep angle Roof is about 30 ft high - you can fly to the balcony without using the stairs.
Monsters: Ghosts of missing players, CV 10
Exits:
- Stairs leading up to the balcony and private rooms. (must be over 2 foot tall to climb them)
- Doorway to the dining room. Bio's car smashed through this door, and it is now a big hole.
- Doorway to the kitchen marked "Staff only" (3-9 ft to pass)
- A hole in the wall behind the plants. (0-1 ft to enter)
- Main entrance. (4-12 ft & CV=4 to exit. They don't fight, they are just big fancy doors that are hard to push.)
Dining room
Looks like a car drove through. Everything is a mess - no service here any time soon.
Exits:
- Smashed hole in picture window to cliff face
- Smashed hole to Hotel Lobby
- Intact doors to kitchen
- Intact doors to Patio
Kitchen
Unseen room. Entrance is blocked by THE DRILL! A living CV=20 machine perched snake-like on it's power cord. "For employee use ONLY" it speaks mechanically. You must defeat this to enter.
Exits:
Doors to Dining room
Patio
Unsurprisingly, the patio is filled with patio furniture. Chairs and tables of all shapes and sizes are abundant and some pretty flowers are interspersed between them. It's actually sort of difficult to move through it, though ideal if you just want to relax. It also provides a fair view over the cliff face, so someone with good eyes might be able to tell what's going on below. The strange thing is that exactly half of the furniture is black and half of it is white, with the line between them fairly clear. You can almost feel the seperation. The only other things of note are a single black deck of cards on one white table and a single white deck of cards on one black table. Both appear complete and fit for playing.
There is a balcony here and a large railing at the edge of the cliff to keep guests safe. The part of the kitchen that Bio's car drove through is visible from here, but the railing curves around in front of it.
Exits:
- Door to Dining room
- Over railing, you'd fall to Highway Bridge, and be quite hurt unless you could fly.
- The patio is open to Hotel South Yard.
Balcony
The upstairs balcony is a rather plain affair looking out on to the lobby on one side, and on the other, doors to several rooms.
Exits:
- Downstairs to Hotel Lobby
- Several identical doors spaced many feet apart.
- A different looking thin door by the side by the stairs. This goes to The Changing Room
- Another hall around the corner.
Changing Room
It's where bridal parties go to get ready before the wedding. When occupied by exactly ONE player, that player may roll 10 sets of change dice and receive the first outfit that comes up. (Include outfits from any roll that includes one, but ignore other parts of that roll, or rolls without outfits.
Exit:
- Back to Balcony
By the River
Cliff face
Below the hotel. It has lots of bushes and is climbable. (Very slowly - double your steps, min 2 unless you are falling or flying.) It is not shear, but at about a 70° angle most of the way down.
Exits:
- Climb or fly up to hotel
- Down to Cliff Bottom
- Sideways to more cliff face. (The cliff is about a mile wide. Only the areas above Cliff Bottom are climbable. Can be treated as multiple areas, but they are all the same.)
Cliff Bottom
The bottom of the cliff has lots of soft soil and plants due to erosion - bushes and rocks. The shape is quite rounded in some areas. There is a river here about 40 feet east from the cliff face - it is swift and deep, but only about 50 feet wide. There is a flat drivable area here at the riverbank. (The cliffs face east - the hotel is out of sight, further west on top of the cliff.)
Exits:
- You can climb the Cliff Face to the Dining Room
- Follow river south to Cliff South
- Follow river north to Cliff North
- Try to cross river (Flows south)
Cliff South
Lots of soft soil and plants due to erosion - bushes and rocks. The shape is quite rounded in some areas. There is a river here about 40 feet from the cliff face - it is swift and deep, but only about 50 feet wide. There is a flat drivable area here at the riverbank.
Area effect: Change dice do not work here - but effects picked up elsewhere proceed normally, and combat dice still work.
Exits:
- Cliffs are unclimbable here. If you fly up, you go to ?????
- Follow river North to Cliff Bottom
- Follow river South
- Try to cross river (Flows south)
Cliff North
Like Cliff South, the river flows parallel to an unclimbable cliff face. You can hear a low rushing sound further north, and the river flows noticeably faster and rougher here. There is also some cool mist in the air. There is a wooden structure at the base of the cliff - it's boards are at strange angles, and it appears collapsed. The wood of the structure is rotten and very old. Rusty nails stick out in various places. There is no base that a structure would be built on - it all sits on unevern rocks. Nor is there a trail leading up to it. It is only a few feet from the cliff, which is almost perfectly vertical here. Inside Pask found the useless remains of a table saw, and various other tools, as well as some large empty gas containers, and other unidentifiable blobs of corrosion. Everything is rusted through except for a plastic box under some boards.
A heavy chain by the river rises up to hold a tethered floating island.
Exits:
- Cliffs are unclimbable here. If you fly up, you go to ?????
- Follow river North to Waterfall Base
- Follow river South to Cliff Bottom
- Climb the chain to Northern Cliff Battle Island (Steps +1 to get here)
Waterfall
Rainbows dance in the mist, and the roar of the water is overwhelming. Something feels magical and dreamy about this area. There are cement benches here with rubber pads attached, and they fill you with a desire to lay down and sleep in the cool mist. There is also an obelisk here - some work of modern art? It is a forty foot black cylinder with a cement base. There remains Snow and Ice around the Obelisk
Exit:
- Follow river south to Cliff North
Highway Bridge
The river continues to flow past here, and it flows under a bridge. (It flows much more slowly here then up north. You won't get dragged under the bridge.) The ground rises to the southwest, and becomes a dirt road, that merges with a two lane highway.
Exits:
- Southwest onto Highway
- North to Cliff South
Northern Cliff Battle Island
A large barren flat-topped island floating over the Cliff North area, thethered to the ground below by a huge chain. The top is featureless, aside from the end of the chain at one part of it. Takes your current movement speed +1 to climb up or down the chain to it. Once there, you may fight up to 4 monsters with preset CV's, one monster per post, and you MUST fight every monster that you said you wanted to fight until you beat all of them or lose. (eg. "I want to fight 3 monsters," you MUST fight against three monsters)
Every post you win against a monster, you may increase your CV training as normal, to help in the next fight. However, if you lose against any one of monsters, your CV is returned to what it was before you started fighting. (eg. Win against first two monsters, lose against third one, you lose the CV training received from the first two monsters)
Monsters that appear here have CV's like this.
- 1st Monster's CV ~ Your CV +1 (white haired, evil twin)
- 2nd Monster's CV ~ Your CV +3 (white haired, evil twin, armed with oversized sword)
- 3rd Monster's CV ~ Your CV +5 (white haired, evil twin, armed with oversized sword and dressed in black samurai armor)
- 4th Monster's CV ~ Your CV +7 (white haired, evil twin with black demon wings, oversized sword and black samurai armor)
When you defeat all the monsters that you had said you would fight, you climb back down the chain, as no more will appear. If you lose:
- Your CV bonus reverts to what it was when you came up.
- The island spins over and dumps you on the ground below, knocking you out for a page. (You can post OOC only, no rolling or actions.)
- The monsters follow you down, laugh at you, and draw on your face with colored markers. Others can post what they draw.
- They do not do anything else to you when you lose to them. Other loss-to-monster effects do not apply:
Every time you visit the island, (win or loose) you may not return for 10 pages. (the chain becomes untouchable and a barrier stops you from flying there)
Additional rules added in view of the Dr.Who incident. If somehow someone interferes with the island battles (ie. A Dr.Who coming to the rescue of someone beaten by their evil twin) the island will inflict a special status onto whoever rescued you if the interference allows you to get away from the island after defeating all the evil twin versions. If however both yourself and your rescuer are beaten, the island dumps you on the ground below as normal.
The Northern Cliff Battle Island special
The last evil twin you defeated (or tied with) to defend your partner from before you left the island turns into a black mist and is sucked into you. The special activates when you are knocked unconscious. When knocked unconscious, you take a form of the last evil twin you defended your partner from on the Battle Island. If you only beat the first twin together, you become Pure Evil with white hair (1+ to CV, change), defeated the second twin together, you get the oversized sword (an additional 2+ CV, item), third, Black Samurai Armor (an additional 2+ CV, outfit), and if you defeated the last evil twin, you get the demon wings ontop of the rest (additional 2+ to CV, change). If you remain in this form for over a page, or you are knocked unconscious again, you lose the Pure Evil and Demon Wing changes (If you had them), although the sword and armor remain in your possession (if you had them). The special remains, however, if you are knocked unconsious, you can't take that form again for another 5 pages.
Exit
- Climb chain down to Cliff North (Special, see above.)
Highway
Highway 1
The two lane highway is crumbled and filled with potholes - plants grow out of the asphalt in many places, showing how rarely any vehicles have come here. A sign reads "...hotel, next right" but the name of the hotel is unreadable. A smaller spray-painted sign underneath reads "Cursed Highway- beware!" An old gas station is visible up ahead.
Exits:
- Northeast to Highway Bridge
- Northwest to Gas Station
Gas Station
Other
Bio's Car
Location: Eaten by zombie car A Purple Cadillac DeVille with pink and gold interior. This car seems impossibly spacious inside, 10 people could easily ride in here. The seats face sideways like in a limo. Leather seats slide against skin. Tinted windows. And a free wet bar!
Exits: (Driver controls locks and can open doors remotely)
- Driver's door (3-8 ft)
- Passenger's side door (3-8 ft)
- Rear right door (3-8 ft)
- Sunroof (3-12 ft or fly)
