Super Smash Bros. is a series of fighting games made by Nintendo and Hal Labratories. It's latest edition, Brawl, has many Nintendo characters, and some!

History
Some guys in Japan wanted to make a fighting game with no Nintendo people in it. But they decided to put them in. "It's not going to be popular" they thought. BUT THEY WERE WRONG! It was! Including characters like Mario, Yoshi, Link, Samus, and Pikachu, the game was a sucess!
Gameplay
Unlike most fighting games, KO's are obtained by knocking people of the stages by raising their damage meter, which shows how much damage they have. Players can ue items like Super Mushrooms, Beam Swords (whick look and sound like LightSabers), Mr. Saturns, Maxim Tomatoes, and more! There are also multiple types of matches, like time, coin, and stock (life) battles.
Melee
Two years after the original, Nintendo made Melee. it had many more characters (12 to 25!), improved graphics, an Adventure Mode (going through side-scrolling levels), and new collectible trophies (objects showing things from previous Nintendo games). Many characters were added, like Princess Peach Toadstool, Zelda, Mewtwo, Falco, and the little-known-at-the-time-in-America Marth and Roy from Fire Emblem.
Brawl
7 years after Melee, Brawl came out. It had 10 more characters, a new adventure mode, stickers for powering up your guys in Adventure Mode, and even more improved graphics! One suprise was the addition of two non-Nintendo characters: Sonic the Hedgehog and Sloid Sanke from the first-person shooters Metal Gear Solid. They did, however, get rid of characters like clones of people like the retarded Pichu and Roy, a clone of Marth.
Rumors
Of course, the series has had its hoaxes still beleived by stupid little kids. One infamous one is the Sonic and Tails in Melee rumor, posted as an April Fools Joke in EGM. Another is the Toad in Melee, made from Photoshopped pictures. There have also been little ones, like Olimar in Melee (who made it into Brawl) and the "Rotate the thingy 30 times for Master Hand" thing.
My things about it
Allright, I'm a hypocrate. I play as Pichu, Dr. Mario, Young Link, etc. BUT I'M GOOD WITH THEM! I don't actually on the origional, but I have a ROM of it. I don't like it.
