Once done at the beginning of every month, painting the cafe is a far less regular occurrence nowadays, probably because of the fumes involved. The cafe's original colour was pink, and the very first colour that it was changed to was white. The second was purple, but this did not last very long as it also included various other modifications to the cafe, such as astro-turf flooring, that made nobody happy.

The only scheduled paintings are in December, to coincide with Christmas. In 2004 it was red and gold, 2005 green and white, 2006 blue and silver; these were all planned out way back in 2004.

At one time, all the paint layers were dug out to make a big hole in the wall, showing just how many layers there must have been. Shirogane Masume then got fed up with the paint and demanded wallpaper. This lasted for a few months.

Thanks to Kitenshi Kocha and her "good" ideas, the north half of the cafe is pink once more. The south end is rainbow.
