University of Brigonia is the first university in the HEXARCHY founded in 1532. The university is a collegiate university with its center at the EALINGAN capital, a number of its campuses had been renamed by other nations in the HEXARCHY, for example the former University of Brigonia, Marculos College which is now known as the ACADEMIE SCIENÇOJ EN RUSKIN. The university still has a number of constituent colleges bearing its name only in the country of EALING. Traditionaly the head of the House of Brigonia also serves as the Academic Governor of the university. Currently, the university has 2,500 students enrolled in its various degree granting programs. It is also ranked as the top university in the HEXARCHY in research and academics. The university's motto is TARSVM, TARDIVZ, ARIMVL (Truth, Training, Knowledge). The university library holds one of the largest collection of literary and written works from the various regions and time periods of the former Kingdom of BRIGONIA during its long history. The library is said to hold a collection of over 123,000 volumes of books and many more collection of student's written and painted works. The university press publishes the Lexicon of Easting, a dictionary of accepted words in the Easting language. The dictionary is updated and published every five years for distribution in the nation. However, a master copy of the dictionary housed in the university library is updated every year. The university admits mostly male but also admits female who exceeds expectations and who are also members of the nobility. Tuition in the university varies college by college, and course by course. The tuition fee is based on the number of credit hours taken by student. Students from EALING tends to pay lesser tuition fee than those students who originated from other countries. All students are also required to either live in campus or within 5 miles from the campus. There are several residence halls in the university campus and each constituent college maintains its own dormitories. The University of Brigonia is widely known for its highly selective admission policy and the tiresome application process. Each year the university receives thousands of applications but only accepts about 5% of the applicants to attend the university. Typically students earns their associate's degree in the second year of study of an academic program and their bachelor's degree in the fourth to fifth year of their studies. Students desiring to gain higher academic degrees may continue studying for two to three more years to gain a master's degree and a further two to five more years of study to gain the doctor's degree, which is the highest degree the university is allowed to grant.
