-neBo- (registered April 4, 2003) was a decent text battler, but is best remembered for his skill in the field of emceeing. As one of the first FLaB battlers to successfully convert to audio, -neBo- paved the way for future textcees to do the same.

Biography

Joining NBS on April 4, 2003, -neBo- began as all textcees do, as a newbie with an interest in song writing. This interest would lead him to experiment with text battling in an attempt to strengthen his abilities with wordplay and metaphors. But it would become more than just an experiment as he really took to battling, earning the fourth spot on the most wins list behind LyrixInsane, Knuxx, and Extra Mic.

Despite this achievement, -neBo- does not stand among the best battlers, as he was never dominant. Instead, he merited respect through his conversion from text to audio. Many before him had attempted the conversion, such as Nyvillain, but -neBo- was one of the first NBS battlers to actually be good at emceeing.

Many of the greatest text battlers can attest to how hard it is to convert from being a good battler to a good emcee, as text is structured differently from audio. In audio, flow is judged on the ability to keep instep with a beat, but in text there is no beat, allowing for the writer to use his own internal rhythm which is far easier. A great deal of the wordplay used in text is too complex and too wordy to be caught in audio, thus rendering them useless. But even with these obstacles in his way, -neBo- was able to make the conversion, and went on to become a celebrated emcee on NBS.

Using myspace as a tool, -neBo- gained a fairly large fanbase for a NBS-bred emcee, becoming a predecessor for the battlers of today that are solid emcees, solidifying his spot as one of the best text-to-audio converts in NBS text history.
