a]What are the issues and problems?

OK
  • The comprehensive plan involves that the smart growth is concerned with the quality of life issues. Some problems were that sprawl forces soccer moms to drive theirselves instead of using cabs and when people are forced to drive to and from work this causes them to spend less time with their families and more money on gas. Other byproducts of sprawl include pollution, which negatively impacts the overall environment and causes linited housing choices.

b]If this were happening in your community, could tou think of any psitive or constructive resolutions?

OK
  • The positives from smart growth to me seems like the government wants people to plan not only within their families but in their business approach as well. And that both of these will help the environment with the choices that we make for the future within these boundries. This could include carpooling or moving closer to your work place so that you wouldn't have to spend as much money on gas or use as much gas as you did before.

c]What are the positives of the plan?

OK
  • The plan will keep San Francisco to protect wild life areas that people do not visit often. This plan is suppose to protect the unique habitat and species for the next two decades.

d]What are the problems with the plan?

OK
  • The Natural Areas Program can not protect the urban nature while simultaneously accommodating all forms of recreation enjoyed by the public without restriction. They are also concerned with how they can keep dogs on their leashes and keep feral cats from killing prey.

e]Do you think this is a possible solution? Why or why not?

OK
  • Yes I think this is a possible solution. The program would have to revise thier plan and find ways to keep dogs on their leashes and enforce the rules, they would also have to come up with an alternative way for feral cats. They might be able to catch them and move them to a different habitat.
