[edit] General Information

The Winds of Futuro were one of Belka's most experienced units. Their assignment during the Belkan War was to hold the Futuro Canal, a vital Belkan position. "The Winds of Futuro" consisted of three two man Squadrons. The Gabel, Schakal and Postler Squadrons. Each Squadron was assigned to a different area of the Canal.

[edit] History

The Gabel at the Northern End of the Canal, protecting the Belkan Fleet. The Schakal at the Southern end of the Harbor, protecting the Fleet Facilities and the Postler patrolling the middle of Futuro Canal, tasked with attacking any enemies in that sector.

"The Winds of Futuro" engaged as an entire group for the first time on April 24th, 1995. As the newly formed Osean 3rd Fleet began to make it's way into Futuro Canal, the Belkan Fleet was suprise attacked by Osean and Ustian Aircraft. The Gabel Squadron arrived late to the battle, but were shot down.

The facilities at the southern-end were also hit by Allied Air Strikes. The Postler Squadron did it's best the protect the Naval Facilities, but were shot down.

During those attacks the Osean 3rd Fleet managed to get into the Futuro Canal and defend themselves from multiple Belkan Aircraft which were scrambled to attack them. Amoung them the Schakal Squadron fell in and made multiple runs on the Osean Aircraft Carrier Kestrel. They too, were eventually shot down.

It is believed that "The Winds of Futuro" were all shot down by the 66th Air Force Unit "Galm", but these reports were never fully confirmed. Wether this is true or not, out of the six pilots only three survived.
