Rumble and Frenzy

From Egs Mayhem

Rumble and Frenzy are Decepticons who are part of Soundwave's cassette army. Both transform into micro-cassettes capeable of recording audio and video information, and can interface with many Decepticon computers as well as Soundwave.

"Destroy what's below and what's above will follow."

Rumble is your basic street punk. He compensates for his small size by always acting tough. And he is tough. Cross him and he'll punch your optic sensors out. He has a quick temper and a mean disposition. The other Decepticons try to keep their distance. Yet, this unpleasant, swaggering little hoodlum is one of Megatron's favorites. Rumble follows orders blindly and hungrily; he always waits impatiently for Megatron's next assignment. A good time for Rumble is shaking a building into a heap of rubble. "I love the sight of crumbling bricks," he says.

Rumble can roll the drum-like constructions in his body or transform his arms into pile drivers to transmit intense low-frequency sroundwaves that have the effect of stimulating earthquakes. His quakes have registered as high as 5.4 on the Richter Scale.

Rumble's small size severely limits his strength; he can be easily beaten by most of the Autobots in any sort of physical struggle or artillery barrage. Given his power of causing the ground to shatter, however, the trick is to get close enough to Rumble to fight him.

"Sow panic and surrender will bloom!"

With a fervor bordering on insanity, Frenzy plunges into conflict holding back not one molecule of his mechanical being. If it were necessary for him to breathe, war would be his oxygen. His lust for destruction knows no cause, no purpose - it only craves the fear it instills in others, the destruction it leaves in its wake. The other Decepticons appreciate Frenzy's boldness and enthusiasm - often this is enough to turn them from beating a hasty retreat to launching a new offensive. But given his single-minded devotion to violence, even they find him hard to deal with on a personal level. They have no problem letting him lead the way into battle.

His screaming voice and belligerent manner alone could shake up an opponent, but Frenzy can enhance this effect by spinning the drum-like devices in his torso. Rolling the drums against each other produces a high-pitched, grating sound of up to 200 decibels which can severely disrupt the electrical flow within the circuits of anyone within earshot, resulting in all sorts of mechanical malfunctions. He's particularly adept at disorienting his opponents by neutralizing their auditory and balance centers.

Like his brother Rumble, Frenzy's small stature limits his physical strength, but his abilities make him difficult to get near. A very cool, logical reaction to his manic onslaught is often an effective way of countering his intimidating effect.

Nobody, aside from mind-readers, ever really knows which Decepticon is which. Sometimes, Rumble Is Blue and Frenzy Is Red, but other times Frenzy Is Blue and Rumble Is Red. This confusion is compounded by the fact that the two have nearly identical voices, and both red and blue cassettes have been seen using Rumble's pile driver ability at the same time. As expected, many flame wars have broken out as a result of this discrepancy.
