Memstone
"Magicite: Common name for stones containing magickal power, or as it is commonly manifest, Mist. There exist varieties: Spellstone, being used for the preparation and working of magicks, Skystone, giving flight to airships, and Memstone, holding fast sounds heard and visions seen, that they might be experienced again." - Sage Knowledge XII
Memstones alone function basically as video cameras, capturing sight and sound. A memstone bonded to a book will function as a recording device, and whatever is said into it will be transcribed magickally onto the book's pages. Similarly, one can simply write in a bonded book.
With the advent of Emperor Larsa's new foreign policy, envoys of the Archadian Empire distributed special memstones and empty tomes among the peoples of Ivalice, hoping to foster better international relations through their use. The memstones and the empty books given out are pre-bonded, and together referred to simply as memigraphs.
Anything written or transcribed in them will be viewable by any who own a memigraph.
RPG Community
Anything In-Character, posted to Dynast's End RPG Community.
Acceptable Formats
Memigraphs
Anything that can be imprinted onto a physical page is acceptable for the RPG comm. Examples of this could be water stains, writing, or drawings. To denote things other than writing, use the following format:
[ A water stain darkens the top half of the page. ]
Others viewing a wet page will be able to feel that it is, in fact, wet, but none of the other pages in their book will be affected by it.
There is currently no way to make anything in a memigraph private or directed specifically to one person or group of people, though it's said that the Draklor Laboratory is currently investigating the idea.
Letters
The Chocobo Post is renowned for its speed, and as such, letters between correspondents are transmitted remarkably fast. If your character wants to write privately to another, this is the way to do it.
Letters should be marked as such in the Subject text, as follows:
[ Letter: Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca to Larsa Ferrinas Solidor ]
Responses will be considered to be 24 hours apart in in-game time, but players can thread at whatever pacing they choose. Just keep in mind that if you have a 'letter' that's 10 comments long, it spans 10 days of in-game time.
Tagging
Please tag any posts your character makes with their name. If it's your first time posting as that character, let a mod know and we'll add it into the list for you. Letters should be tagged with both the sender's name and the recipient's name.
