Ditton Lodge suffered damage from enemy action in the last war and was demolished soon afterwards. The Milk Marketing Board (MMB) was built in neo-Georgian style and completed in 1940, in the grounds of Ditton Lodge. The MMB was itself demolished at the end of the 1990s and replaced by the executive homes of Raphael Drive. Giggs Hill Road remains home to the pavilion of Thames Ditton Cricket Club, whose first recorded match on the Green was played against some gentlemen of Richmond and Brentford in 1833. |
