Britons
From Dittopedia
Britons were the peoples living in Britain during the Roman occupation. They seem to have given themselves the name. It first appears in the late 4th century BC account of the voyages of the Greek explorer Pytheas. The Greek forms of the name are Prettani, Pritani, and (after Caesar's invasion in 55 BC) Brettani. It is thought to mean something like the tattooed people. [1]
