The 12 gatekeys are 12 individual stone medallions crafted some time ago and given the power to open doorways between the realms. Once spread all over the world, Robert Singleton managed to collect them all in his quest to find Master Tzun. Activating the relics Robert uprooted his entire manor and had it travel between the planespheres of the Umbra, depositing him upon the face of Tzun's personal realm, Yelestin, which had been cut off for some time. The gatekeys are generally used with a gateway mechanism to confine their power to a spatial singularity, though one has not been found on Earth recently.
