For our game, we're going to make use of all the rules including both optional rules: peer review, and auxiliary articles.

I'm going to go ahead and start the rules discussion by asking everyone what they think of moving auxiliary articles into a rule in their own right, and allowing them to score points just like the core articles. I'm thinking something along the lines of one point per ten words plus ten points per citation, with the maximum of five citations.

I also wonder about alternate scoring schemas. The current points calculation rewards verbosity but not necessarily quality, which is why I created the peer review rule. But I also wonder about other methods of calculating points that would give diminishing rewards for longer articles, to help encourage brevity.

Perhaps something like "5 points per word for the first 200 words, 1 point per word for everything over 200, plus 100 times the number of citations, maximum 5 citations"? -Librarian Tacitus XI 13:53, 24 January 2009 (PST)
