Siphons are mechs straight out of the datatracks of myth. They're Cybertronians who've been bestowed with immortality, but at a hefty price: they must feed upon the spark fluid of the living in order to survive. They prowl about the streets of Cybertron at night, hunting their mortal prey with otherworldy fervor and grace. Once they've lured an unsuspecting robot into some dark alley, they go for one of the power mains in the neck with their dental plates sharpened to horrific points, puncturing it and sucking the helpless mortal dry.
They're said to be painted in dark colors and have white optics, and their traditional alt mode of choice usually involves mass shifting into a much smaller, flying thing. However, ever since siphons have entered into the media as a chic genre of horror and macabre romance, many other bizarre traits have been attributed to them (such as extraordinary strength, speed, and even telepathy), and their alternate modes are more commonly thought of to be fast, sleek cars.
