Tutorials for Beginners

From Crusaderkings

VIDEO

Veraxus's "Crusader Kings Tutorial" is a good introduction on how to start out the game. It is the first part of a five-part tutorial. As many of Crusader Kings's rules can seem overwhelming at first (because the game lacks an in-game tutorial), this 5-part tutorial is strongly recommended for any newcomers to the CK series. Please note that this Tutorial is done in vanilla Crusader Kings (with possible updates), without the Deus Vult expansion. Therefore many enhancements that Deus Vult introduced to the game are not to be seen.

ParadoxianLP's "Let's play" lets you view the life of Svyatoslav Rurikovich, the count of Rostov in medieval Russia. The playthrough seems to have ended for now and has many more videos than the tutorial above (91 to be precide), but it should help to give players a pretty deep insight into the game. ParadoxianLP starts the game off as a weak and lowly count and eventually becomes a strong king, reaching deep into Europe. This playthrough already uses Deus Vult, therefore it is recommended to be watched (or at least a few parts of it) after the first Tutorial.

CamilliusCaesar's "Let's play Brandenburg" shows a more exposed province of Brandenburg, where some movement starts really early (also there are early opportunities for CamilliusCeaser to conquer some neighbouring provinces, as Germany is slowly starting to fall apart). Another invaluable resource for the beginning player. This playthrough also uses Deus Vult and as there are not so many beginner comments, it is placed as a third valuable source.

Beginner' Tutorial by President Rex has many useful definitions, explanations and examples for beginners. It would be similar in scope with the 5-part tutorial, but with more in-depth information. A very useful counterpart.

After-action report for Bohemia by CSK is written in a way as to slowly get new players into the "feel" of the game. It starts out slow, not getting too deep into advanced topics and gradually builds up as it goes. Recommended!

A noobie's guide for noobs: Castille by Ebenweb. This is a relatively short guide, but has some valuable information for new players, especially if they wish to start playing a spanish province.
