The warm-up band is not very good, playing mostly covers of songs that weren't that interesting when the original group played them. You leave your seat and find your way to the back door of the Riverdale Orpheum Theater, a throwback to the 1920s -- an old Vaudeville house.
A big black dude in a white shirt and black slacks stands at the door. He looks at you warily and grunts.
