Pokemon: Get to know Pichu

You look over at Pichu. The little guy is wobbling around on his feet for a bit and then looks up at you blinking, "Chu?" He seems a little unsure but healthy enough.
He is utterly adorable and you smile down at him. You squat down beside him so he doesn't get scared and introduce yourself, "Hey little buddy, I'm your new trainer. I'm probably not exactly what you thought you were signing up for but I promise I'll always take care of you and we'll make a great team,"
The Pichu seems to understand you. Small sparks fly out of his cheeks. He seems eager to express how he feels about you in battle. You feel really lucky to have got such a plucky Pokemon. You decide to name him Plushy since he's as squishy and fluffy as one. You both agree to go into the tall grass to have your first battle.
