You get out of the hot tub and go into the house. You follow the trail of water across the tile floors and find Jenny sitting on a chair, covering her face. Jenny looks up at you as you approach. Her eyes are red as if she's been crying.
"Jenny," you say. "I'm so sorry. I can't believe that I said that back there. I don't know what I was thinking."
"That's for sure," Jenny remarks.
"How can I make it up to you?" you ask.
Jenny thinks for a few moments and as she does, you consider whether or not asking that question was a good idea.
"A few things," she says. "First, you can quit comparing my daughter to other women. She's simply incomparable. Second, if you want to so much as be around my daughter then you can't be with Daphne in any way. And finally, if you want to have any sort of relationship with my daughter, then you won't have one with anyone else. Understand?"
