You quietly cross the street and, trying to be as silent as a mouse, ease closer to the skulking figure.
You get to the spot where the figure was, only to see they're no longer there. Where could...?
A predatory, obviously female voice sounds in your ear as a knife is pressed against your neck. "Don't resist or I'll kill you. Head down that alley to your left and go down the flight of stairs on your right, then open the door and walk through it. I'll be right behind you with this knife at your throat to make sure you obey my instructions exactly."
