Ignoring the unicorn's impatience, you examine the sundail more closely. Its made of some kind of smooth metal, almost appearing as if a corroded copper surface were covered in molten glass and allowed to dry. Its unclear how practical it is, though, since you're still in the forest and so little sunlight penetrates the forest canopy that the sundial isn't a functional instrument.

Walking around the pedestal, you discover a sword.

It isn't shiny and doesn't look magical. In fact, it looks like it was dropped there a long time ago and there's dirt and a coat of rust on the dull-looking blade. It's heavy, too, much heavier than you'd expect. Picking it up, you give the weathered blade a few tentative swings and decide to leave it where it is.

Conscious of the increasing annoyance of the unicorn who is now stamping its front hoof but otherwise hasn't moved from where it stopped you decide to continue on.
