"I could use some snacks," Cate suddenly says.
"We just ate," you remind her. "You can't be hungry again, can you?"
"I want snacks, Jules."
"Fine, I'll ask the barkeeper."
"No need. I saw a bowl of nuts on the counter earlier. I'll just go get them." She stands up. Only now you realize that Cate doesn't necessarily desire the nuts in the bowl. She slowly walks over to the far end of the counter, swaying her hips a bit more than necessary. She looks good, not only for her age, and very sensual.
The barkeeper looks up when she passes, and so does one of the guys, the darker one. He is about to furtively nudge his companion, who is sitting with his back to you, preempts him himself. He makes the black haired guy look over to the entrance where two women just entered the bar, a tall blonde with a rack capable of influencing earth's gravity, and a brunette who is carrying a bit of timber around her hips. The two guys ogle the blonde unashamedly. Pigs.
The blonde pretends not to have noticed anything, but her body language tells you she not only noticed, but expected the attention. She chooses a table in earshot of the guys. She doesn't order anything; no doubt she is waiting until the guys muster up enough courage to buy her and her wingman woman - wingwoman - whatever a drink.
In the meantime, Cate returns with the bowl of nuts. "Shit," she says. "Did they at least look?"
"They were about to when Airbag Woman walked in."
"Great timing, huh?" she asks. "We can't compete with that, can we?"
