With no contact to the outside world, and things obviously getting worse, you begin to wonder if the two of you are sitting ducks here in your apartment. The door is locked, sure, but would it take that much to break it down? Is it like in the movies, where a simple shoulder-check could topple it? Then what? You can't go out the window. You'd only have a kitchen knife or two to defend yourself, and you'd be lucky to do that against one guy. What if it were a bunch of people? You could lock yourself behind the bedroom door, or bathroom door, but if they broke down the front-

"Hey," the girl says quietly, snapping her finger in front of your face. "You still with me here?"

You nod. "Yeah, just thinking. This place probably isn't all that safe. Normally, sure. But with all the craziness going on outside, we need to find someplace safer."

"We could try going to the police station," she says, shrugging as she studied the bandage on her wound. "Or fire station. Aren't those the places you're supposed to go in an emergency?"

You don't want to seem like you aren't sure, but you aren't. Would either place be secure?
