Starving isn’t an option. Making sure not to take more than half of the food she has, Krystal eats her meagre meal slowly, trying to make the pitiful meal last as long as she can. She still feels hungry when she is finished, and she glances wistfully at the remainder of the food. “‘’If only I had brought the soup...’’” she thinks. “‘’No, I would still rather starve than eat SharpClaw cum.’’” This thought reinforces her resolve, giving her the willpower to resist the temptation of eating the food. Instead, she lies down on a soft patch of grass and tries to sleep to distract herself. It has been a long, hard day, and it doesn’t take her long to drop off.
It is mid-morning by the time she wakes and the sun is high in the sky, lighting up the clearing. There is a stream nearby, and Krystal drinks from the refreshingly cold water, but resists the urge to bathe in the water. It takes all her willpower though, as standing next to the stream, she is oddly drawn to it - it is as if the stream is calling to her. She doesn’t have time, she needs to find Fox. Walking off into the forest she begins her search once more.
As the sun reaches its zenith in the sky, Krystal wanders upon another stream and again stops to have a drink when she notices that the area looks familiar. It feels familiar too - again she has to struggle to tear her eyes from the rippling water. It takes her a second to recognise the spot, but once she turns around and sees a small clearing she instantly realises that this was the same stream as before. Angry, she kicks at the dirt and curses. She can’t afford to waste time like this. She sets off again at a faster pace, making sure to keep the stream on her right so as to not circle around again.
She progresses in this manner for a couple of hours, when suddenly a loud crack to her right makes her jump. With her keen vision she can see a small band of SharpClaw headed her way. They haven't seen her yet, but she doesn’t have much time to react. Glancing around, she realises there is no cover; she could hide in the water, but she risked the splash alerting the SharpClaw and she may not be able to hold her breath for as long as it take them to pass.
