Obadiah's two favourite pastimes are getting and being drunk, and making things. Although the items he makes vary greatly, the majority of them are weapons of some kind, probably because he likes making things go boom. He has problems naming them, though. He has a good sense of humour and laughs loud and often. He also enjoys listening to music, and often blares it out at high volume while he works, hitting stuff to the tune.
History: From a young age, Obadiah was fascinated by machinery. he followed his father's footsteps, working as a mechanic/engineer in the repair facilities in a spaceport. As well as fixing broken ships, he made many gadgets of his own out of scrap and spare parts. Although he enjoyed his work, Obadiah was bored. he wanted to go places, see things. All these people with their shiops were so lucky- he could only just afford rent, let alone a place on a ship. So he kept working. Eventually, he gave up hoping. Then, one day, a ship docked for repairs and supplies. This wasn't unusual in itself, but this ship was a pirate ship. Called the Javelin. Some of the crew went to get drunk while the ship was being repaired, and once Obadiah's shift was over, he decided to do the same. Pure coincidence that he ended up in the same bar as the crew, at the same time. The result of this coincidence was a fast, drunken friendship, and a hearty brawl. Afterwards, the crew made their way back to the Javelin. With them went mr. Obadiah Hatsworth. He was found passed out in the crew quarters. When he woke, he decided he liked this ship and its crew, and asked to join up. After some discussion, he was allowed to stay on as a member of the crew.
Equipment:
Several bottles and flasks of various alcoholic beverages, small toolkit that fits into a pocket (Contains various spanners, screwdrivers, ETC), large toolkit that he has to carry around- usually gets left in his quarters/workshop, triple barreled break-apart 12 guage shotgun, plasma cutting tool, multitool, cigars and box of matches.
About the shotgun- it's like a standard sawn off hunting shotgun, but with 3 barrels. Here's a picture of one I found online, so you get what I mean.
