Natsume Maya

Maya is also the 'sheathe' of Reiki, the only one who can touch the sword without activating it's abilities, and thusly the only one who can touch the sword without it eating her soul alive. Maya was granted this honor when she was about six years old; however, she disobeyed her parents' order to not allow her siblings to touch the sword, and let her elder brother, Shin, whom she semi-idolized, hold onto it.
The sword consumed him, and he was put away, in a jail located in their home's basement. Maya was the only one to visit him, and during that time, the two became very attached to one another. Shin eventually found his way out and murdered their parents, but Shin was never put to trial or incarcerated for his crimes. They two began high school together, and many people speculated that Shin's love for his little sister was more than familial, but it was never acted upon by either of them. Maya pushed her brother away, not wanting to have to rely on him for anything, wanting to show him that she could protect herself and be equal with him, but the events surrounding their seperation ended up with Shin getting killed.
Maya was shaken by his death, as his murderer was her (now ex-)boyfriend Mitsuomi. Unable to forgive Mitsuomi for such a heinous act, Maya threw back together her brother's group, the Jyuukenbu, and vowed to take Mitsuomi down in revenge. However, her feelings for him may have still lingered on.
Current
Currently, Maya is training a group of students known as the Jyuukenbu, though it is more of a school than an actual fighting group, as only two of her students are actual, trained, fighters. Rock Howard, Rock Lee, Daisuke Motomiya, Ken Ichijouji and Sora make up the bulk of the Jyuukenbu, though Maya is not opposed to new students coming on. Her younger sister, Aya, used to train with them, but after a fight, Aya left the Dojo to go train with the X-Men, an act Maya now regrets pushing her too, as she now no longer has any living family left. She is attempting to reconcile with her sister, however.
Eventually, Maya's elder brother Shin Natsume showed up, and took over being leader of the Jyuukebu, though Maya is still the defacto trainer for the people involved. She currently lives in her dojo, with Shin, Bunshichi Tawara, Jason Todd (whom she uses to do chores around the house) and Masataka Takayanagi. She is planning on entering the tournament with her siblings, and has no idea that her ex-boyfriend, Mitsuomi Takayanagi has arrived on the island.
