Mata Nui: Alternate Reality is the Game Team's second game, and is inspired by the 2008 web serial on BionicleStory.com, Dark Mirror. Mata Nui: Alternate Reality Takes place in a pocket dimension where things turned out a little differently from the way the Great Spirit planned it...

Plot
In this alternate reality, Teridax decided to report back to the Brotherhood of Makuta whilst on Mata Nui. Unfortunately, it did not go well. He was ridiculed for not being able to stop "six simple Toa and six senile Turaga". Tired of ridicule, Teridax dropped his plan and sent out his Shadow Kraata. They infected the Toa Nuva, and many of the Matoran villagers. The Order of Mata Nui, sensing that chaos was about to break loose, sent 6 new Toa Stones to the Turaga, who gave them to the most deserving Matoran in their respective villages. The Order then convinced the Turaga to go into hiding, for their own safety. Energized with Toa Energy, the new Toa are ready to free their infected friends, and save the Toa Nuva, for without them, the Great Spirit is doomed.
