From Ace Combat Wiki

(Redirected from Differences with real life)

Ace Combat is not a simulation game, and below is a list of goofs in the game series.

[edit] Aircraft

  • Afterburners have unlimited userage.
  • The aircraft do not consume fuel.
  • Jet and propwash does not have any effect on aircraft.
  • Some aircraft can exceed their real life speed.
  • Aircraft can carry over 100 missiles at times and several bombs.

[edit] Weaponry

  • The standard missile, an AIM-9 Sidewinder, can be used against ground targets.
  • The Sidewinder, a heat-seeking missile, is referred to as "radar guided" in the game.
  • An AIM-9 Sidewinder only partially destroys an enemy fighter, it takes two hits while in real life it takes only one. Note that helicopters only require one hit.
  • The guns fitted on the fighters have a much slower firing rate than in real life.
  • The missiles have a shorter range than in real life.

[edit] Other

  • A direct gunshot to the cockpit will not harm the pilot.
