[edit] History of Exodus

Back in early 1990 Samson was an extremely large chapter with 100+ members. Due to the size the chapter was becoming hard to handle. The board of Samson decided the best solution was to split the chapter. This is how Genesis was formed. However, a few months later, the members of genesis decided to branch off again. This new chapter was Exodus AZA. Exodus became an official chapter on August 20th, 1990. At the time exodus had 13 members including the first Godol, Jeff Rosen.

In the beginning Exodus were mainly comprised of alephs from Beachwood and Orange, however the 5th godol of Exodus, Aleph Sam Friedman (S/S '94) recruited about 30 people from Solon and since then Exodus has remained a mainly Solon chapter. Sam Friedman later became the advisor of Genesis and was given the nick-name "Jesus".

In 1996 the gizbor of Exodus, Adam Fleeman did a ton of fundraising for the chapter. However, in stead of the money remaining in the Exodus bank account, he used it to buy himself weed. Since then all motions in Exodus have been seconded by Adam Fleeman.

In 2012, the then-Moreh of Exodus, Aleph Ryan Friedman, recruited the 100th member, Aleph Harrison Fried. Exodus continued to grow for the rest of the term and topped out at 107 members.

[edit] X gonna give it to ya

For this year everyone starts in a circle slightly hunched down. Everyone starts saying together "X gonna give it to ya, gonna give it to ya". As the cheer goes on, everyone starts getting louder and louder. In the beginning as it get's louder, people start to stand up more and more. Once the cheer becomes said louder a speaking voice, everyone starts jumping up and down going in a circle.

[edit] Dobres

Although this began as a chapter cheer, it is now also a cheer done regionally. However it still is often started by Exodus and the region joins in later. All it is is people repeating "Dobres" while moving their arms. During the "Do," the forearm and hand should be pointing up however the other part of the arm should be pointing away from you. It should be a similar position to when one waves, except the hand should be perpendicular to the body. Then for the "bres" the arm should be straightened out and pointing toward Dobres. This is repeated ad nauseam.
