You cast cure and the monster falls to the ground with no signs of life. Valefar's eyes stay open, and the beast is not moving. To make sure he's dead, you slice its head off. The cure seems to have also cured the air of the other gas.
Destroying this beast was difficult and mere luck took you through. You have gained several levels.
