The league soon transitioned into a local professional wrestling promotion showcasing rather kids who performed professional wrestling in front of hundreds of paid spectators while receiving viewership from nationwide cable audiences, vastly differentiating from typical backyard wrestling seen today in its professional aspect and organization. It lasted from 1984 to 1989. NWF has also released a documentary entitled NWF Kids Pro Wrestling: The Untold Story in 2005 which was the recieved several independent film awards.
